Vue without a fixed server runtime.
Vue framework · Runtime agnostic

All the Vue conventions. Your server runtime.

Build complete Vue applications with file-system routing, SSR, data fetching, modules, and generated types—on the backend runtime that fits your project.

02 — Why Runable

Framework comfort should not create server lock-in.

Vue gives developers a flexible foundation. Meta-frameworks like Nuxt make that foundation faster to use, but they often arrive with a server stack already chosen for you. That works until your project needs Fastify, NestJS, AdonisJS, Express, Hono, or an existing backend.

Runable separates the application experience from the HTTP runtime. You get conventions for the Vue side and connect them to your server through a small adapter.

The result is one application, one routing model, and one familiar workflow—without splitting the frontend and backend simply to keep control of your infrastructure.

03 — Capabilities

One framework layer.
Everything connected.

Runable connects project structure, server rendering, and the Vue ecosystem into one coherent development model—without taking over your backend.

Runable application layer

Runtime connected
A
AStructure

Conventions that stay out of your way

Organize the application with familiar files and folders. Runable turns that structure into working code.

A.01

File-system routing

Pages become typed routes automatically.

A.02

Auto-imports

Use components and composables without import noise.

A.03

Layouts

Share navigation and structure across route groups.

A.04

Route middleware

Protect, redirect, or transform each navigation.

A.05

Page metadata

Keep route behavior next to the page that owns it.

B
BRendering

Server output that becomes an interactive Vue app

Load data once, render the initial response on the server, then continue seamlessly in the browser.

B.01

Async data

Fetch before rendering with cache-aware composables.

B.02

Server-side rendering

Return complete HTML from the first request.

B.03

Hydration

Restore state and take over on the client cleanly.

B.04

SEO and head

Control titles, metadata, Open Graph, and schema.

B.05

Rendering modes

Choose SSR or client rendering for each need.

C
CExtensibility

A foundation that adapts to the project

Extend the framework without giving up Vue, Vite, TypeScript, or the backend stack your team already uses.

C.01

Modules

Package and share reusable Runable features.

C.02

Vue Plugin

Connect behavior to the application lifecycle.

C.03

Runtime adapters

Attach Runable to the HTTP server you choose.

C.04

Generated types

Get TypeScript support from project conventions.

C.05

Vue ecosystem

Use Vue libraries and Composition API directly.

04 — Runtimes

Run on anything.
Deploy anywhere.

Runable meets your server through a small adapter contract. The Vue application stays the same while the runtime remains your decision.

05 — Sponsors

Back an independent
Vue ecosystem.

Sponsorship turns community support into focused engineering time for the framework, its integrations, and the documentation around them.

06 — Get Started

Start with the CLI, read the documentation, or explore the ecosystem. No lock-in, no backend dependency — just Vue, TypeScript, and the runtime of your choice.
